This work began with the Albany Peace Project in 2014 and was originally designed to determine if an organized group or trained meditators creating a “coherent state” within their own bodies and then focusing peaceful intentions outward, could measurably reduce violence locally. Dozens of similar prior research studies in other parts of the world have pointed to a positive correlation. Karin Reinhold, PhD, Professor of Mathematics at the State University of New York at Albany will review data to determine if intentions have made an impact.

The Peace Project team, lead by founder, Bethany Gonyea, MS and Professor Karin Reinhold, PhD, are drawing inspiration for their research protocol from theMaharishi University and from the impressive research team of Lynn Mctaggert, author of The Intention Experiment. To date, dozens of studies have been performed, many published in peer reviewed journals, that suggests when a relatively small amount of people meditate there appears to be a corresponding calming of the entire population.
Resonant Peaceful Cities Project has been created with the acknowledgement that not all faiths or political parties can agree on doctrine or political strategies, but they can certainly agree to employ focused healing intentions to reduce human suffering.
Establishing peace is work that needs to be done “by the people for the people,”
During the last 5 years, we have seen significant changes by general populations regarding their acceptance of meditation, and we have explored many approaches of how to make meditation research accessible to various populations including, Interfaith Research, Mindfulness in Schools, Meditation Leadership Training, Corporate Mindfulness Programs which has drawn global attention. We are currently poised to launch many more Peaceful Cities Projects, including Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, and Mexico City.

We provide brief interviews with leading thought leaders and scientists accompanied by intentional coherence based meditations , featuring a different meditation leader each day, and deliver it right to your inbox, to impart both local impact and collectively global impact as we grow.
