I have two topics to discuss today. 1) The origins of the Juneteenth Meditation and 2) How this community made history Saturday, June 20
I am trained in biofeedback. For over twenty-five years I have been teaching people how to use the technology of their nervous system to sustain more buoyant states of being. I also know that this type of grace does not come cheap. We must train our bodies to sustain these states of consciousness, otherwise, we fall into negativity.
I wrote this meditation with great care. I watched the news, I read the posts, I listened to artists, athletes, and protesters. I studied the origins of current outrage. I reached out to people of all colors with whom I have worked side by side bringing this work deeper into the city and asked them “What would you have me pray for in this meditation? What changes do you want to see in this world?” I even requested a meeting with a group of protestors.
I tried to keep my ear to the ground, my heart open, and my spirit in the heavens as I wrote this meditation to offer healing intentions for Minneapolis and beyond. I have always told my elementary, middle, and high school students, “Don’t wait for someone else to show you dignity. Access the state of dignity and integrity within yourself. In meditation find your own dignity and walk with it”. I often tell the kids, “You are worthy of your own attention.” Live from the beauty that is you. It is my great pleasure to share some of this work with the general public.
Also, I have loaded this meditation with powerful biofeedback tools that can only be effective if practiced through repetition over time. Each section of the meditation is designed to teach the powerful focusing skills including accessing the gorgeousness of a still mind, sitting with your own best friend(yourself), savoring the sweetness of an open heart, bathing an area or situation in love, honor your own dignity and the dignity of others, and finally sending blessing and peaceful intentions to your own life and watch how your life transforms. Each one of these skills often needs to be refined and practiced for us to maintain the buoyancy of our spirit.
Please continue doing the meditation for 8 days. I have packed so many skills within it, you will find a new gem each day as your nervous system strives to integrate it all. By experiencing the repetition of the work, we access our own integrity, dignity, and nobility. We remember the grand journey we are all on.

2) Deep gratitude. Yesterday, we made history. We connected the world through gathering and sharing EEG Brain Coherence data for peace meditation research.
Countless people from 3 continents and five countries sent intentions to Minneapolis and St Paul today. Eight of those people were connected to the Mind Mirror EEG and readings were recorded in the cloud via the grand opening of the Mind Mirror Portal.
This was a combined effort of many people and organizations. The meditation was written by Bethany Gonyea, founder of the Global Peaceful Cities Project, with audio support composed by Robert Holbrook, Innovations Director for The Monroe Institute. The participants’ brainwave patterns live-streamed to the Mind Mirror Portal, a web-based global consciousness initiative that combines Mind Mirror EEG patterns into a single pattern that reflected validated the peaceful intentions sent to Minneapolis and beyond.
After the meditation, Institute for the Awakened Mind (IAM) founder Judith Pennington commented on the brainwave changes observed in the eight participants and the averaged group brainwave pattern. Pennington is the co-developer and driving force behind the Vilistus Mind Mirror 6, a research-grade electroencephalogram which displays a visual language that anyone can read, understand, and use to adjust their brainwaves to optimal states of awareness.
This event was the culmination of the insights of Andrew Tang, Software Entrepreneur, Investor, and Founder of the Mind Mirror Portal. “I wanted to create an opportunity where people around the world could share live EEG data for further research in mass meditation. The possibilities are awe-inspiring.”
